Janani Dakshina Moorthy, Ph.D

Dr. Dakshina Moorthy Janani is the Founder & Geneticist of GeneAura Pvt Ltd. She received her Ph.D. in Human Genetics from SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai. Dr. Janani is the holder of the prestigious Women Scientist Scheme awarded by the DST, Govt of India. Research interests of Dr. Janani include reproductive genetics and Human DNA variant analysis. Dr. Janani has an experience of more than Ten years in the field of embryology and is a compassionate genetic counsellor skilled in genetic risk assessment and reporting to patients. She is also certified by the Board of Genetic Counselling Level II, India (BCG2021-47). Apart from these merits, Dr. Janani is a lifetime member of the PCOS society, India, and the Founder of PCOS360India Community.

Gene Aura is the vision of Dr.Janani. She mindfully developed and curated the functional aspects of Gene Aura to offer genetic tests that are affordable to people. In Gene Aura, she interacts with patients during their pre and post-genetic counselling sessions and aid in effective reporting and risk assessment.             Dr. Janani is also the author of several publications in peer-reviewed journals. Under the IGAP program of Gene Aura, she has conducted workshops and training sessions for students, clinicians, and faculties on Genetic Counselling, genomics, and proteomics. She is the Principal Investigator for the ongoing research conducted in Gene Aura.
